EXAMPLE SITE / Home-technology and low-voltage integrator

Pellbrook Home Systems — a site and the system behind it for a home-technology integrator

A site and the system behind it for an Austin home-technology integrator: rooms planned and priced on the public site become a held install week or a booked consult in the operator console, and every move there shows in the household's portal.

01 / The problem

What visitors need

Smart-home and AV integrators sell whole-home audio, theatres, lighting, shades and networks, yet most of their sites end in "request a quote": no price until a visit, no way to commit to a date, and after the form the project lives in phone calls and spreadsheets.

02 / The design

How it looks

We built the whole loop. The site prices the house room by room, line by line, and lets the household hold an install week with a card or book a designer's visit; the console runs that request through proposal, deposit and five install phases beside the crew's week, each job's equipment and the recurring care plans; the portal shows the household the same project, their devices room by room, their tickets and their plan.

03 / Good for

Who it suits

A working fictional system in the browser: plan three rooms on the site, hold a week, move it through the console to handover and watch the devices come online, the plan start and the MRR rise in the other tab.

  • Operator console (/portfolio/smart-home/console): proposal pipeline from request to installed, project board by phase (survey, pre-wire, trim, programming, handover), week schedule per technician, equipment per job with ordered and received status, service plans with MRR, tickets
  • Customer portal (/portfolio/smart-home/portal): project stage and install timeline that follow the console, proposal acceptance with a card hold, devices by room, support tickets, service plan with plan changes and charges

DESIGN CHOICES

Three choices that shape the site.

01

A proposal before a sales visit

Rooms, then systems per room, build an itemised equipment and labour proposal with Austin tax and a range, then hold an install week with a card or book an in-home consult against it.

02

One request, three views

A hold or consult made on the site lands in the console's pipeline; every move there (proposal, deposit, scheduling, each install phase, handover) shows in the household's portal, live across tabs.

03

Evening light as the palette

Limestone ground, night-blue ink and a single lamp amber used only where light is on: the scene caption, the proposal's room names and the hold button.
